'GOOGLE CODE JAM 2003' WON BY YARIN

[Nov 15, 2003] According to Mercury News, the young swedish programmer Jimmy Mårdell (also known as 'Yarin') is the winner of the 'Google Code Jam 2003' programming contest.

As we reported, yestarday the Final Round was held at the GooglePlex in Mountain View. This round took two hours and was divided into four rounds. The winner received the $10,000 price from Alan Eustace, Google's vice president of research and systems engineering.

Jimmy Mårdell is 25 years old, and was born in Stockholm, Sweden. He's keen on programming (you can browse some of his software on this website), playing chess and music, and he currently works at a small Swedish firm called Elucidon, devoted to Knowledge Systems.

Jimmy Mårdell (Yarin) got 569.58 points, and the second place was for Christopher Hendrie (Canada, 482.17 points), the third for Eugene Vasilchenko (Russia, 359.85 points) and the fourth for Tomasz Czajka (Poland, 331.87 points).
