GOOGLE STARTS TO READ WITHIN DWG DOCUMENTS

[Sep 19, 2004] Since some days ago, Google's started to read within the DWG documents. For instance, if we try 'detail filetype:dwg', we see that the search engine is able to extract information from this type of files.

DWG is a closed format, used to create CAD (Computer Aided Design) documents, and controlled by Autodesk, the firm that uses it on their software AutoCAD.

Although it's a 'de facto standard', there's no much information abut DWG structure, apart from some attempts to get 'open' tools to read and create DWG files, like the 'OpenDWG' libraries.
