GOOGLE PURCHASES: EVERYTHING IS READY
[Oct 15, 2005] Google's got everything ready to announce
'Google Purchases',
the new micropayments service among users.
:: Their engineers have been testing the
'Google Accounts' webpages to show
a link to the new tool (see image).
:: Google's just modified its
Privacy Policy to inform
they are to "request credit card or other payment account information to be maintained in encrypted form on secure servers".
UPDATED: The first mentions to the credit card information were inserted in July, after the rumours of the creation of 'Google Payment System'. Aaron Swartz shows on this webpage the differences between July's and October's versions (red=removed, green=inserted).
