New Google Blog

GOOGLE AUTOMAT

[Nov 9, 2005] Google applied on September 29 for a patent of a "system and method for providing on-line user-assisted Web-based advertising". As you can see at this screenshot (attached with the application), it would be a new service called 'Google Automat' which helps user to advertise their items for sale on Google in under 1 minute.

You must just type in the name, description, and price of what you're selling, and how you want buyers to contact you. Google will automatically create a Google AdWord for you, and host a webpage that provides the full information of your term.

This patent application looks like the commercial side of 'Google Base'. They way to create an item with 'Google Automat' (see image) is very similar to the screenshot taken of 'Google Base' (see image). So users can sell their items directly on Google webpages, instead of developing their own website.

In addition, and how 'Google Base' claimed, these items could be included "in the main Google search index", showed as 'Google Adwords' (see image). Users must set a Cost Per Click (see image).
