DEUTSCHE TELEKOM ALSO WANTS TO CHARGE GOOGLE FOR USING INTERNET ACCESS NETWORKS

[Feb 27, 2006] According to an interview in WirtschaftsWoche, Deutsche Telekom director assured that not only should users pay telecommunications companies for the access to the Internet, but also Web firms (he mentioned Google, Yahoo!, Amazon o eBay), since they use the infrastructures for their businesses.

A few days ago Google testified on the Congress of the USA to defend the neutrality of the Internet against the threats of big telcos to deter users from having access to certain broadband contents.

Meanwhile, Google goes on with its plans to create its own Internet access networks, like the rumoured 'GoogleNet, municipal wireless networks in several North American cities or Google's collaboration with Fon.
